I was inspired by Diego Rivera’s The Flower Seller painting but I wanted it to be different, of a senorita kneeling (her back is towards us) in front of a vase full of roses (not calla lilies), her hair captures the light streaking around the top of her head, with a rose flower at the base of her braided hair. Her long dress spreads out all around her and over the back of her shoes. She is busily arranging the roses she just cut from her garden.
